on sale. >>> good afternoon. i'm tori campbell. san jose police and fire officials are working together to find an arsonist believed to be responsible for setting several fires within the past week. robert honda is live with new photos given to us by a san jose resident who he says has the arsonist on camera. robert? >> reporter: well, tori, we're here in the neighborhood. one thing becomes very obvious. the people here on san antonio street are on alert, watching vehicles very closely. and there is a lot of video surveillance. we've obtained more pictures of a person setting a fire, matching the description of the suspect. now, first we'll show you the sketch of the person drawn from witnesses of a man seen in some of the locations of the 11 confirmed arson fire, white male, 6 foote, 6'2", slender and sometimes wearing glasses. today, ktvu obtained still pictures taken from surveillance video from a house fire last friday in this neighborhood. the homeowner asked us not to give his address. in the pictures, you can see a man who investigators say matches the description of the suspect.

. investigators say an overnight fire in san jose is not the work of a serial arsonist who struck at least five times over the weekend. they say this fire started when someone dropped a cigarette on a porch. the people who lived there put the fire out before crews could etch arrive. it was a nice break for san jose firefighters who had to deal with 13 suspicious fires near downtown san jose in less than a week. all the fires were set between 2:00 and 6:00 in the morning, including five this weekend. police released this sketch of someone they say is a person of interest in this case. he is described as a white or hispanic man between 25 and 40. he's at least six feet tall. weighs about 170 pounds. he also wears large frame glasses. the firefighters tell us they were relieved the arsonist did not strike again and that neighborhood vigilance may have helped keep him at bay. >> certainly getting into the morning hours without having a fire is a relief. so, you know, we're kind of hoping that that might be due to the presence we've had in the public the last few days, the police presence, the fire

'm terry mcsweeney. a developing story out of the south bay. police in san jose trying to hunt down a serial arsonist who struck at least five times over the weekend. peggy bunker live in san jose with the investigation and the unusual steps one nervous community is taking. >> reporter: good morning to you, terry and laura. it's been a tough situation for the san jose fire department as they continue to look for this person, a serial set of fires set. we talked about this on friday when about four fires were started between 3:00 in the morning and 5:00 in the morning, really kept the fire department hop scotching the area as they look for this person setting these fires and just under about with 90 minutes. now to sunday, let's let you know what took place yesterday morning. you can see some of the damage here done on friday, but then yesterday starting at about 2:00 in the morning firefighters say a small fire was set outside a home on south 24th street, next to a house that was targeted back on friday. after that we take you to st. john baptist church a similar arson fire last wed

, police are on the hunt for a suspected serial arsonist in california. officials in san jose releasing this sketch of the suspect. he's wanted in connection with more than a dozen fires there in just the last week. 11 of them confirmed to be the result of arson. three of those coming sunday afternoon. we have no reports so far of injuries. and colorado officials hoping that shaving 100th of a mile off a sign will make it less of a steal. so this is what happened. somebody swiped the latest mile 420 sign so within the last year it was replaced with the mile 419.99 sign. the number 420, as you all certainly know has been used as shorthand for marijuana, the origins for that are hazy. some people suggest 4:20 in the afternoon is the appropriate time to partake in the new legal substance in colorado. >> i didn't know which led indra petersons to call me an idiot. is that thecy sentence that's what thecy insurance said. i didn't know. now it makes sense. the story made no sense the first time. >> news you can use category. >> anyway you're so smart, indra petersons what's happening with the
